Getting the best bedding for your pet snake, turtle or lizard can be challenging. There are various items to pick from. 

The right choice for your cold-blooded companion depends on the species and sub-species. You want to match your habitat's bedding to the reptiles natural environment as closely as possible. 

For example, snakes like substrate made of sand, gravel and stone, wood shavings, and paper products.  

Lizards prefer to sleep on sand and gravel. 

Desert-dwellers, such as bearded dragons and skinks, like walnut wheels that are ground into a sand-like consistency. 

Hermit crabs like a mixture of sand, silt, and coconut fiber, a mix that mimics what they would find on a tropical beach. Most sand items have a probiotic included that assists to break down natural waste. They keeps your pet's habitat clean and fresh-smelling. You can get sand items in a range of tones, including black, red and yellow, to add a little style to your habitat. 

If you have a pet turtle, you'll want to get a substrate that contains riverbed sand, to imitate the turtle's natural environment.

Some reptile owners prefer to place a carpet liner in their pet's habitat. This can be used with most reptiles and can be cut to fit your tank. A carpet liner gives a soft surface for your reptile's underbelly. You can add other bedding items, such as bark, wood shavings, or moss over the carpet. Pet carpets are simple to install and also help in reducing reptile smells. They can be removed, washed to clean, and reinserted right into your reptile's environment.

Second time now, owner Larry has exceeded his claim. The last time, he proved himself to be a man of integrity, so I didn’t hesitate today when he suggested we try a new form of food for my Pom Ernie. Mind you, at first I chuckled at the price of the freeze-dried food, wandering the store on my own, but Larry knows what he sells. Conversation led us right to those bags! I took the bag home, added a small amount to his normal kibble for a safe tummy transition, hydrated it for the suggested ten minutes and — for the first time in his nine years — he ate a full bowl of food without hesitation! Normally, he eats when hungry from his food ball and doesn’t touch food in his bowl. Remarkable. As mentioned to Larry, he’s gonna’ change Ernie’s life! Ya’ just can’t get this kind of priceless neighborly advice from an online vendor. Of course, we can get reviews, and seller advice, but supporting the local pet shop has never failed or disappointed me.Thank you, Larry! If only I could post the video of him eating!!

I needed help with my 3 Rescue Dogs' Diet and allergy issues and Megan was able to answer all my questions and was a step ahead of me by giving me advice on feeding my dogs on a very tight budget. The results came almost instantly as I noticed changes in thier eating habits as I added meat, fish & eggs to thier diet.
